JackTrip Foundation Grant Programs promote innovation and access in network arts. Network arts is defined as live performance via the internet by artists in different geographic locations. Network arts is a medium of our time that provides artworks at the forefront of the arts, unprecedented opportunities for live collaboration locally and internationally, access to performance and education opportunities, and advancement of diversity, equity, access, and inclusion. As an emerging medium in recent decades propelled by cutting edge work for artistic and social purpose, necessity during the Covid-19 pandemic, and the public call for diversifying the arts, network arts is positioned for widespread cultural impact in present and future generations.
The JackTrip Foundation mission is to drive continued innovation of network arts technologies and widespread adoption through a wide array of technology, cultural, educational, and community services. Founded in 2020, the JackTripFoundation started the Equipment Grant in 2021 to launch its grant-making programs and to catalyze the field.
The JackTrip Foundation Equipment Grant supports nonprofit arts, education, and technology organizations, as well as individuals applying through organizations. The funds are for purchase of equipment for network arts projects to further innovation and access in this cultural work.
The grant program awards $500 USD to purchase equipment such as network arts platform hardware and software, microphones, headphones, lights, cameras, mixers, and interfaces. Network arts is defined as live performance via the internet by artists in different geographic locations. The equipment can be utilized for creation, performance, education, research, documentation, or distribution projects in hybrid or virtual formats.
U.S. based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations with primary focus on arts, education, and/or technology fields. Individuals may apply through 501(c)(3) organizations or with a fiscal sponsor. Grantees are eligible for one Equipment Grant per calendar year. Grants are decided on a merit basis evaluated by the Board. The JackTrip Foundation promotes diversity, access, equity, and inclusion.
